We were happy to help the YouTube channel Restore It in their restoration series of a BMW E30 325i. It was a great opportunity to really get to look at the chassis of the E30. We had the chassis put on a rotisserie and shot-blasted with medium grit glass media.
The doors and bonnet had already been stripped of all their plastic and rubber. All that was left was the boot lid and bumpers. Once everything was down to bare metal collected the car and took it for blasting. All of the subframes, struts, and wheels were removed before having them mounted on a rotisserie. The car was then rolled into the blasting room. All of the paint and rust was then blasted off. The rotisserie made this easier to access all of the hard to reach places. In part two of the chassis blasting, the doors, boot, bonnet, and bumpers will be blasted and primed along with the chassis.
